If I fell in love….lets just say I did.

what do I do? How do I say? Should I? Would she…wont she?? Would it affect the dynamics of the group? wouldnt it be strange….I mean…the common frnds…and stuff…would be just odd. It would just be…chaos…utter disorder. And I dont wanna harm the things….the way they are.

My frnds say..that there are some signs…..I dont know if there are any. But it starts off to give you nuances of joy….in subtlest of the ways.

But….I would love to quote Kate Winslet here (And i think I have…on someones blog already//) “We are the victims of the cruelest kind. The unrequitted love. The one that almost kills the victims. We are the curse of the loved ones…we are the unoved ones.”

And this short couplet…(Vikram seth inspires me!) which I came up with just now…

secrets so grave…consequences so dire
before he confesses…he sets himself on fire

burnt to ashes…down and above
poor guy…had fallen  in love

I am angry..

with 4 comments

I tell you an incidence, I have a DDA market near my place which now is the battleground of tenants and subletters..but nobody, nobody with slightest of the sense would take pains to open a shop their…tell you why…coz there is this “Theka” or what we call “Wine and Bear shop. PS: Yahan ANgrezi Sharab Milti hai”.

It is such places….which actually amount to a lot of revenue (Over and under the table…sir! Its always over and under the table!) to the government. But see..a desi theka..is all Hindu/compliant with Indian culture/acceptable…thats what these people believe…the propanants of the hypocrysy….the hand which singlehandedly would wreck the nation.

Just look at the double standards….they are all happy filling up their pockets..and buying the new skodas and BMWs so that their sons can mow over the the ones on moped….but NO….they wont….they will not…they would not…they must never ever promote the “culture” of drinking women…socializing women…..outgoing women…..working women…..free women….young women…..widowed women..women with shorter hair..women wearing pants…women smoking…women jornalists……..just women.

It was an utter disgrace…to what we woke up to, the Mangalore attacks. The goons..the gundas…should be arrested. I am fed up…I am not happy with what is happening in my country. I am just angry….

Once…..Seen twice already!

with 8 comments

This 90 minute movie, which I can barely call a movie. Shot on handicams, minimalistic budget…but creates something magical..I have never seen in a movie. The movie..is a masterpiece….the movie is pure art!

“Yayee…..10 cents! Thank you!” says the guy

“Excuse me!” said she

“Sorry!”says he

“Who did you write this song for?”

“No one”

As she continues her stare…the guy gives in.

“She is gone.”

“She is dead?”

“She is not dead, just gone”

“The song is really good.”

“But you gave me just 10 cents”

“So you do it for mooney then?? You want the new issue?” Says she holding a stack of the fresh magazine.

“Cant afford it!”

And thats how..the two protaganist happen to meet. She is a czech immigrant, He is a broken-hearted-hoover-fixer-sucker guy. And guess what, the girl has a broken hoover as well!!

I accept the movie with its small little cute goof-ups such as the one mentioned above and ofcourse hard to receive Irish accent (Fooked! Moonday! Mooney!) .Another scene which lingers on to my mind ;

“I dont believe it, You are married?”

“Ya. I am !” says she

“How do you ask ‘Do you still love him’ in czech?”

“činit tebe tichý Amor jemu!”

“so..činit tebe tichý Amor jemu?” asks he

“ne JÁ Amor tebe” says she

“What…what did you say?? What..does it…??”

It was a movie, where two people, two strangers…do not fall in love. They chose not to fall in love. This musical has amazing background score, extremely beautiful songs! And I mean it. 5 days…and these are what I have been listening to.

Magic….the movie is just pure Magic. As Glen Hansart said at the oscar podium…”Make art! Make art” this movie certainly is art.

Oxford by the twilight…

with 4 comments

I have found solace in strangest of quantums of these ephemeral fleeting seconds which pass by with a blink of an eye. Not all of them involve me and myself.

Such nuances which I now think of…involve a couple of people and cups of coffee but this was special one…involved me and my thoughts. There were people around…a lot of distractions with their fragrances all over, but..no….nothing was going to divert my attention…at least not tonight  from Ayn Rand and Al Gore and Stephen Hawking and Stephen King and Kipling and Dickens and Derrida and Drucker…..

I had the best time at this oxford book store….and just love the two and half hours spent their…doing nothing. Flipping throught the books, judging them by their covers…going through all the sections, then over hearing the lady who was telling a story to a bunch of kids , from the other side of the book shelf. Sat on the floor…read the literary dictionary….looking for subtle difference between debat’ and debate.

I sat on the red spiral chair….which last time…we couldnt…because just couldnt figure out..where shall we sit..and where do we put the legs..and where the back is supposed to rest…. But when….I got off…I did not realise that I was counter weighing against this free spirited rocker right next to me…until this rocker..brought the couch down..almost down! Anyways….the greatest of incidences for sure.

Oxford rules!! The cha bar….and the people…discussing their books over coffee or cha! That cha….would be way more to heavy on my pocket today…but I know…when I earn…where I would come..for a lazy Saturday. I could…just love there. The place has a eatery….a loo and books, all things..I need to survive.

I wish..I have a book store as good as this one is, the setting couldnt be more amazing, as the main door stares over the busy roads…from the heart og the statesman house!

Sign off with a beautiful quote I came across..

“It aint what you dont know gets you in odd, its what you already know and is just aint so”    -Mark Twain

Once…

without comments

Came across this OST which won an oscar last year. A small budget Irish movie about a musician/vacuum repairman and a musician /flower girl…wins an oscar. The two actors..who composed the song….hailing from Irish and Czech background and….just creating magic in the OST.

Wanna see this movie..asap. Loved the trailors……..

leaving you with lyrics…….Its been 3 hours…and….this is what I have been listening to..

I don’t know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can’t react
And games that never amount
To more than they’re meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You’ll make it now

…………………………………..magic…isnt it?

My Fair ladies…

with 4 comments

“Utho bhaiya…ladies seat !” says this lawyer lady …who probably just got a couple of hoodlums convicted at the local tis hazari court, and now was on her way to lay her hands on a couple more in the metro. I would have given the seat if I had one.

Surprises me…

The double standards we as a society are following. Chivalry is one thing and suffragette mentality should have been got over with long back. Dont you think  so ?

A nation which has had its first female prime minister and president as well before the US of A, still captured by the suffragette mentalities. Agree to the fact that women accross India, may be are not as self sustaining as their urban counterparts but  are we as a nation even trying to do something about it?

Does the political posts held by the ladies reflect the power of women in the particular nation?? Americans talk of the their independent ladies…but the thought of  a female president didnt go very well down in the caucuses alone!

On the other hand, India…where majority of women are still being oppressed…we as a nation have tried to project a very different image altogether. May be thats our optimism..??

Women can vote, are protected by the law…and are on their way up for sure. And as far as seats are concerned….I would like my Mom and sister to be seated when they travel. I have no objections…

So….

1.Obama is here:

Fellow Indians seem to have forgotten but he is the same person who said that Hilary(Presidential rival back then) was “senator from Punjab”, poking at the pro-outsourcing and pro-India policies. Now..we are all gaga…and the news channels cant get enough of him.

The man..would protect the home turf first, and seems quiet obvious but for some reason…our youth is gaping at the new President!  I would have been more comfortable..had PC had still been our FM. But since his services were required to restore the shaken home ground…so..I guess. But it is our Economic and Financial ministry we need to look up to and not Obama.

2.Rise of the Slumdog.

Semi-Indian cinema celebrates the 10 nominations at OScars. I have never been so excited since Lagaan got nominated. Happy for Rahman..and even more happy for Gulzaar. Hope Jai Ho wins..for its amazing groove, O..saaya being good contender as well. Talk of gulzaar and I think of the Mogli track…remember…”chaddi pahan ke phool khila hai..” to “choli ke peechey” to “Beedi” and now “Ringa Ringa”(happens to be my personal favourite for sheer exhibition of female badinage and..yes…double entandre subtly embedded to its core. This puts him ahead of Javed Akthar (Another big shot lyricist in Bollywood) and may be…would win him a Grammy next year.

3.DCE times..

I express my feelings in three letters and a punctuation mark. WTF? We..iDCE hosted the site on edu. Kicked out coz we wrote about condoms. Never given funding. And these…people have managed to print their thing on glossy paper??? Well in my defence…

i) I do not like the content. Irrelevant for a college paper.

ii)Get your phrases right. And…pleas..no expressions which just never begin to make sense..”Sports does not create character, it reveals it”

iii)Please ..no Boot licking.

Things I liked  about DCE Times…

Over look the cliched name…the cliched A-Z of DCE and pompous show of the Infrastructure…and the pompius show of the vehicles made in DCE…and overlooking the fact that just..two/three DCE specific articles….the team managed to take out a print(Its not easy!)

I loved the information and facts. It was a very good attempt. But I found a lot of  anodynes such as “Placements unruffled”.

Good…restores the dried up adrenalin in me.

Career Mis-Launcher

the missing piece

the missing piece

The question is….why?? Why dont they?? Why cant they…just tell me for a while that I have no potential to crack this CaT. Here I stand…in the batch of 65 or so people, they all had “Meow” as their first word..I am real sure of that. But….I have not been able to discover the feline side of me…so…m still down and under, fighting this unspeakable, undiscernable, unravellable conflict tearing my brains apart.

CL, happens to be  a place where the brightest minds of the nation are wishing to joint the brighter ones in the blingy IIMs. But…actually…for the time being…brighest minds are just arguing over remainders and LCM. Am I diverted?? Is this my destiny??

I dont know…

What I can say is that having spent 30,000 bucks to them already…and having been offered 1/5th of a bench in a small classroom where we run short of elbow-space more than anything….I still am on my pursuit of happiness.

As I have confessed at many occcasions, that I hate what these people are making out of us. Robots. Ripping apart the creativity. I see people underlining the novels…so that they may write reviews. (THIS IS NOT AN RC. YOU WILL NOT BE ASKED QUESTIONS. STOP UNDERLINING YOUR DISPLAY)

And then…this word thingy. I see idiots…dumbd..cramming the words and not knowing how to use them. They have a diary….. red pen for nouns, black for verbs….cross refrenced..front and back!! WHY???? What for??? You might be able to tell the minutest difference between the toughest of the words, you might be as ready as hell to asnwer a couple of rhetorics….but fo you even enjoy language ?? The way one should, one can and one must??

Stop reading all the verbeage…recline on a bean bag…sip your coffee…appreciate art. Read because..it makes you think deep…get in touch with the lost side of yours…stop using the brain you have made a databasae out of…think like a man..think like a woman…!

“50-50. we both share.

says he. Tells me his vyatha katha

“Dilli bahut buri hai bhaiiyya”

says hes been travelling all day.

“Indraprastha ko inderlok bataya

coz…village se aaya mai”

Get off there…at the inderlok

Doves are shot Dead..

without comments

One couldnt stop at the sudden urge to point at it and laugh..then point at it again! The sheer incongruity of the two halves of the statement made by the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) to the print journos…that they were sorry for all the civilians and the innocents who lost their lives and ….(Wait for it…) the weapons used were strictly under the norms as specified by the international code.

Come on…war?? Is that what we are here for?? Killing people?? May be yes. I am not a darwinist, no…my science teachers and a couple of friends tried to force down this theory down my throats at more than one occasions. I am not sure….I dont seem to be capable of defending my very belief(s) most of which are quiet a bit of antithesis to the popular darwinism.(see…m workin on the isms these days)

Though the theory of natural selection seems to have put us all in a place where we are…but no one told to use phosphourous lined shells. Use you claws people…..No I dont tend to imply the very notion…not at all. I am against war. Now Lord Krishna said that a man fighting for his rights, and his people shall never get the blood and the sin on his hands. The greater good takes over. But I beg to differ Mr Krishna, I am sure there can be mediations…there can be negotiations ..at least today.

Why war??? Why people why?? What better does it make you from all those apes who scratch their itchy butts and fight and kill for their territory?? The whole  purpose of establishin all these norms, all these diplomatic institution….is sadly defeated. Why cant all the rage…all the anger be allayed by the neutral nations..(Who are not running out of fuel ..I would say!)

Strange it is…isnt it that its been so many years and we are still fighting over Land…and faith….(and OIL??). I wonder if a day comes when we fight for broadband connections…. Just…anything is possible in thie petty mean world!
